1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Data Transformer ("the Tool"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Tool. The Tool is provided free of charge, without registration, for personal and professional use.
2. Permitted use
You may use the Tool to:
- Upload, parse, and convert files in supported formats (CSV, Excel, plain text)
- Deduplicate and clean tabular data
- Export processed results to CSV, JSON, Excel (.xlsx), or Markdown (.txt)
- Embed or link to the Tool for legitimate educational or commercial purposes
You are responsible for ensuring that any data you process through the Tool does not violate applicable laws, third-party rights, or obligations of confidentiality you may have.
3. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Tool for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Tool's source code in a way that circumvents open-source license terms
- Use the Tool to process data you do not have the right to access or transform
- Misrepresent the Tool's functionality or privacy properties to others
- Attempt to introduce malicious code, scripts, or payloads via file upload or text input
4. Intellectual property
The Tool's interface design, branding, and original source code are the property of the Tool's creator. The open-source libraries used by the Tool (PapaParse, SheetJS, Tailwind CSS) remain subject to their respective licenses.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited right to use the Tool as described herein.
5. Your content and data
Because the Tool operates entirely client-side, we have no access to the files or text you process. You retain full ownership of your data at all times. We make no claim to any content processed through the Tool, and no content is transmitted to or stored on any server operated by us.
You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of the data you choose to process.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Tool is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your particular purpose. Results produced by the Tool — including deduplication, format conversion, and Markdown generation — should be reviewed before use in any critical workflow.
In particular, we make no warranty that the Tool will function correctly in all browsers, operating systems, or network environments, or that it will remain available at any given time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profits — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Tool, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Tool shall not exceed zero dollars, as the Tool is provided free of charge.
8. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Tool's creator is located, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Tool shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
9. Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were last made. Your continued use of the Tool after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
